BENEFIT 1: SARS Section 18A Tax Deduction – Donor Deductible Contributions as per SARS Regulations. Donors will receive a SARS Section 18A TAX CERTIFICATE delivered at your door by courier. DUT Tax Exemption Letter

BENEFIT 2: BEE Scorecard Optimization – Claim BEE Scorecard Points for Contributions. Donors can claim BEE scorecard points in the codes 400, 500, 600 and 700, and for Qualifying Small Enterprises, code 800. Points can be structured to offer you optimum benefit. DUT is a Level-5 Contributor, 80% BEE Recognition (more than 75% of our beneficiaries per BEE definition are “black”). DUT BEE Letter.

BENEFIT 3: Corporate Social Investment (CSI)  – Donor investment will reinforce community values, and relationships with students, parents and communities, through various climate change, education, youth job creation, and community development interventions. With donor assistance, DUT can support qualifying CSI initiatives, aimed at achieving and sustaining positive social development on rural and metropolitan level for communities served by the university.

BENEFIT 4: Satisfaction of participation – Supporting Education and the Youth. Donors will enjoy the satisfaction of supporting this institution, and the community of students, especially knowing that more that 70% of DUT students are first time graduates in their communities, with considerable impact on these communities.

BENEFIT 5: Partnership benefits  – By partnering with the university, donors will gain marketing exposure or exclusive naming rights, and depending on the details of individual pledges, can negotiate access to DUT research and innovation results and expertise. Certain partners can also be given preferential recruitment access to DUT graduates.
